A Chill is in the Air
At that junction between the late fall season and the wait for the first cold snap in the northlands, the air has a soft haziness to it and there’s a touch of frost in the early mornings. It’s as if the earth is whispering, brace… it’s coming. The hush of the first snow, and the hiss of winter winds are almost here.
This is an early work in which I was delving into particular oil painting techniques; it was formerly part of a private collection, and has recently become available following the liquidation of the estate. It is offered with the option of the original frame (measures 17.75”x 14.75”), as depicted.
